DOMINICAN BESTSELLER AT INTERNATIONAL CINEMA: BLUE WATER FILMS ACQUIRES RIGHTS TO “THE FEARSOME GANG OF DREAM ROBBERS”

The National Publishing House announces the adaptation of the children's novel "The Fearsome Band of Dream Robbers" into a feature film and future streaming/television series by the international production company.

Santo Domingo, DR, October 1, 2025. — The National Publishing House of the Ministry of the Dominican Republic announced that Blue Water Films, SRL, www.bluewaterfilms.do (Dominican Republic) and Canspan Film Factory, www.canspanfilmsfactory.com (Spain) signed an agreement with Italian-Dominican author Geraldine de Santis to develop a feature film and a future TV series based on her children's novel "The Fearsome Band of Dream Robbers," published by the state entity with great editorial success.

The publisher's director, Rubén Lamarche, indicated that "the signing of the agreement was carried out in the context of the 27th Santo Domingo International Book Fair 2025 and the scope of the project includes its distribution in the Dominican Republic, Latin America and the possible sale to Spanish National Television (RTVE) Spain, with the potential for global exploitation in any exhibition format."

The film agreement was signed by Alfredo Contreras, CEO of Blue Water Films, SRL and Canspan Film Factory, and author Geraldine de Santis simultaneously with the reprinting of the bestseller. "Our goal is to bring to the screen a story with a Dominican stamp and global reach, preserving its literary essence and its potential for family audiences," stated Contreras. For her part, de Santis expressed: "It's an honor that this work has found a new format to connect with more readers and viewers."

As part of the agreement, Blue Water Films has appointed Inna Luna as project coordinator, coordinating the creative development, financing, and production stages. The parties plan to share progress as milestones regarding casting, script, creative team, and distribution windows are confirmed.

The book "The Fearsome Band of Dream Robbers" is available on Amazon and from the National Publishing House.
