Alfredo Contreras, a Spanish director/producer with over 30 years' experience in film and television, has been a pioneer in the creation and production of television formats since 1990, with over 3,000 television programmes directed for TVM TELEVISIÓN DEL MEDITERRANEO. He has been a regular contributor to TVE, CANAL 9, TV5 (CARTELERA, HOY CRUZAMOS EL MISSISSIPPI, ETC.) both on traditional general television channels and on television channels specialising in music (XTV TELEVISION MUSICAL), where he has directed programmes, competitions and documentary programmes, among others.

He has been the director/writer/producer of films such as "Roy Embrun," "Supernatural," and "Red Assault" from the 1990s to the present day. He has also worked as a producer in television and film. He has also received awards as a producer of documentaries such as "El Tigre de Siberia," filmed in Vladivostok, Russia, which won the award for best documentary of the year. He also created (writer/director) the television series "Invisibles," an action series currently in development for Plataformas. "Eco Fantásticos," a 3D animated children's series currently in development for TV.

In Toronto, Canada, CANSPAN FILMS FACTORY was founded, the first Spanish production company with an official headquarters in the country. It co-produced several feature films, including "PATCH TOWN" and "THE RETURNED," the latter with the FILMAX group. It also produced films such as "ZOMBIE TURBULENCE," "THE MONSTER," "SEE YOU IN HELL," "DARK LIVES," "THE LAST SHOW," "ROY EMBRUN," and "BURGA," among others.

He works in script development / director / or production in projects such as "DROID PARK", "DEADLINE" or "LABERINTO DE SOMBRAS", or "DANY 45" an action genre film in co-production with the Dominican Republic, "LUCES", a musical/drama feature film.

Alfredo Contreras has so far garnered more than 50 national and international awards for various films. At the Latin American Film Awards gala, Alfredo Contreras received the award for Best Latin American Director.

Currently co-producing with Colombia/Dominican Republic "BACANAL/SATURNAL" of the genre /horror/suspense that will be shot in October 2026 in the Dominican Republic. In co-production with Netherlands/Spain, the feature film "THE LAST SUMMER" a comedy based on the story of a decadent octogenarian couple. Likewise, work is being done on several co-productions with the Dominican Republic and Spain.
